Two post-doc positions in Spain

Below you can find two job descriptions for two post-doc positions working on vector-borne diseases in Spain.

We are seeking two postdoctoral researchers to incorporate during 2023 to our research team at Estación Biológica de Doñana (Seville, southern Spain). We offer two two-year postdoctoral contracts within the Arboprevent project funded by Fundación “La Caixa”. The main objective of the project is to identify the risk areas of WNV in Andalusia, where the virus is intensively circulating, to propose control strategies to reduce the presence of mosquitoes in inhabited areas and monitor the amplification of WNV and other flavivirus in western Andalusia. We expect to be able to forecast the risk of mosquito proliferation and, in particular, the risk of WNV spillover into humans.

We are looking for researchers with experience in Entomology, Population dynamics modelling, Epidemiology and/or Remote sensing. The postdocs will be based at Estación Biológica de Doñana – CSIC and will work in close collaboration with other teams working at INIA – CSIC, CNM – ISCIII and CIBER de Epidemiología y Salud Publica. Persons interested in one of these positions, please send an expression of interest to jordi@ebd.csic.es and include: 1) a cover letter specifying the research experience and intended contributions to the project, as well as the potential starting date; 2) the
curriculum vitae including the complete list of publications; 3) the names and email addresses of at least two scholars to be contacted for letters of recommendation.
